    About me

    Roland Moodie - Designer Maker.
I am a designer maker living and working in glorious Devon, UK.

My two great passions, or some would say, fanatical obsessions, are working with the magical material of wood and being outside in nature, walking the fairways of the world, playing the awesome game, known as golf.
I'm sorry I can't promise that you will never 3 putt again but you can be sure that with a magical tarka putter in your hands, you will be more relaxed and confident on the greens.

    Brief history of putters

Back in the good old days when wood was King, way back in the 1500s, putters or putting cleets, as they were known back then, were made entirely of wood. The shafts were a mix of ash, beech and hazel; with the heads being made with a variety of hard woods like beech, oak, holly and apple. We at Tarka Putters feel it’s time for the magic to return.

    Why choose wood

Science has proven the amazing benefits of wood.

    Reduced heart rate

    Improved attention and focus

    Lower blood pressure

    Decreased stress levels

just what you need to improve your putting

If you travelled across the universe at the speed of light you'd be shocked by how much gold and diamonds you'd find but wood… you might never find a single piece. And the reason is mind-blowing, wood can only come from life, real biological life…it's one of the rarest and most extraordinary materials in the entire universe."
