Roland Moodie - Designer Maker.
I am a designer maker living and working in glorious Devon, UK.

My two great passions, or some would say, fanatical obsessions, are working with the magical material of wood and being outside in nature, walking the fairways of the world, playing the awesome game, known as golf.

Brief history of putters

Back in the good old days when wood was King, way back in the 1500s, putters or putting cleets, as they were known back then, were made entirely of wood. The shafts were a mix of ash, beech and hazel; with the heads being made with a variety of hard woods like beech, oak, holly and apple. We at Tarka Putters feel it’s time for the magic to return.
